In what could come as a big disappointment to those who had been looking forward to this development, it has beenrevealed that HTC's Desire HD smartphone willnot get the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. In an official blog post, HTC detailed further on its decision. It adds, "After extensive testing, we’vedetermined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD. When we consider new versions of software, weweigh a number of factors, but ultimately thecustomer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers."
The Desire HD has been among the first few models by HTC to featurethe speaker grill bar andcurved edges. Launched in 2010, the Desire HD smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and is fuelled by 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and comes with 768 MB of RAM. It sports an 8MP camera with dual LED flash and also offers 720p recording.

The Desire HD, interestingly, back then had featured on HTC's 16 devices to receive the ICS update inthe future. Now, however, as per the latest confirmation from the company, that isn't happening.
